Nursery Update

Here's a little sneak peak of the progress my husband has been making in BabyGirl's room while I've been busy lounging around making BabyGirl.

He installed paneling on the lower 2/3 off the walls in the same pattern used downstairs. Our living room, dining room and den were paneled on the bottom 1/2, FYI.

One of these days I'll get him on here for a tutorial because I have no idea how he does it. I'm his beer (and water) bitch. That's my contribution.

Next, the entire room was primed with 2 coats of Kilz Primer. Then the ceiling got its first coat of pink paint. We used the leftover paint from our 1/2 bath renovation I talked about here.

This second picture here really doesn't do it justice, but there's currently no real lighting in the room and its dark outside. Oh well, you get the point.

Next up, one more coat of primer, several coats of Designer White all over the walls and another coat of pink on the ceiling. We won't be stopping there of course. I've already convinced him to tear out the broken closet doors and dismantle the built-ins and rebuild something more useful and prettier. He's begun priming that space as well so it will be ready for reno this weekend.

Apparently the whole space will be finished up while I'm vacationing with my girlfriends, aka the Auntorage, in Savannah this weekend.

Oh and he cleaned my bathroom Sunday night while I laid in bed and watched.
Jealous? Sorry ladies, he taken. For life.

Here's my inspiration board for those of you who've forgotten. I've already strayed just a bit from this board, but not much. I decided against the curtains from Land of Nod in favor of some custom window treatments with the same green and white color palette. Also, I opted for a dresser rather than a desk for one reason, the dresser was free and the desk was not. I'm going to paint my childhood dresser white to keep with the scheme.

And just for fun, I'll repost the before pictures.

Please note, these were taken before we moved in. That's not my clutter or my dolls in the rocking chair.

For reals.
