Crib Crashers Part 1
Graham's Crib
Y'all have heard me brag countless times about having the world's cutest nephew. Ever.
Well his nursery is just as cute as him.
There was no art on the walls or keepsakes on display when my sister took these pics but you can still see how she transformed an uber-girly space left by the previous owners into a precious room she created just for her baby boy.

The soft green and blue are heavenly! Even the closet is organized and color coordinated!
*Those yummy cookies in the first picture were a sweet treat my sister's law school friends sent to the hospital. What a beautiful and fun twist from sending flowers!

Chair: KiddieKastle -- Best Chairs Storytime Series (run, don't walk to get these nursery chairs, they are great and significantly less expensive than their counterparts at Pottery Barn Kids and Serena & Lily)
Now a chat with my sister Elizabeth, Graham's mama!
I knew I wanted Chambray walls the minute I found out I was having a boy. My inspiration came from Serena & Lily's Henry bedding. The Henry collection remained tops on my list for a while (and Grahamâs name was almost Henry Thompson), but I found the Eli print on a shopping trip with my mom and grandmother, Nonnie, and knew immediately it was the one. Nonnie was so impressed that Edmund would allow elephants in our house that she generously treated us to almost everything in the collection! We gladly accepted the gifts, but also assured her that Graham would have plenty of Democratic gear and Obamababy onesies to make up for it.*
*The rest of our entire family is very republican and still gives Elizabeth a hard time for marrying a Democrat. You know, as in, Edmund is awesome and we love him, even though he's a democrat.
The pictures above don't show the personal touches we've made since Graham arrived. We added gifts and sentimental items, including a Tiffany & Co. silver rattle, picture frames and a honey colored train Graham affectionately calls his "choochoo." I had also planned to add a horizontal stripe to the wall (or possibly even white letters with a touching quote) hitting slightly above all of the furniture, but haven't found the time -- note to Mamas to finish as much as possible before your baby arrives!
I love the honey colored basket, train and vintage children's books as a warm contrast to the blue, green and white. I was worried that there might be too many elephants and wanted to avoid creating a Pottery Barn Kids replica, but I think the accents are different enough to pull the room together. I hope to have shown that you can select mass-produced staples, and add your own personal touches to create a distinct nursery that's still warm and inviting.

We can't wait to get ahold of an updated picture of the room with all Graham's toys and accessories on display as well! And I really can't wait to get ahold of that sweet boy Graham!
