Sweet Boy

You may have noticed in an earlier post that the cutest puppy you have ever seen appeared in some pictures on our boat. Well, for those of you who haven't had the pleasure of meeting our Sweet Boy, Mabry, here are some pictures to help you get introduced!

Mabry is a Boykin Spaniel from Goosepond Boykins. He was born at the end of June and he came home to live with us in August. Matthew can't wait to take him duck hunting but I just love to cuddle with him on the couch. He's the sweetest dog. Ever.

We had a tremendous scare with him a few weeks ago and he spent a few nights down in Charleston at the emergency veterinarian hospital where he underwent an insane amount of tests and ultimately surgery on his intestines, stomach and bowel to remove 8 inches of rope he swallowed (probably about six weeks before his rush to the hospital) that came off an AVERY retrieving/training piece. I'm not usually one for soap boxes, but I urge everyone with pets to keep a close eye on what your dog is given access to, even things designed for puppies. Animals do not fall under the Consumer Protection Act so if something disastrous happens to your pet (and subsequently your bank account) you have no legal recourse.

This little puppy is a survivor and we love him.
