Fayetteville, NC

I spent this past weekend in Fayetteville, NC with my parents visiting my little brother. For the past year he's been stationed at Fort Bragg but leaves today for a year long tour in Afghanistan. It was so awesome to spend a long weekend with him before his deployment. We're all going to miss you so much Jamie.
Friday night we ate dinner and wandered around adorable downtown Fayetteville. The historic downtown was full of antique stores, art galleries, specialty shops and sidewalk cafes. My dad found a really cool old bookstore, shocking! We were surprised to find ourselves in the midst of the Fourth Friday Festival where they close down all the streets for a festival full of performing artists and vendors. What an awesome southern city.
I had alot of pictures so I decided to post them in a new format, let me know what y'all think. It takes a little more work but I think it keeps the post clean.

We spent most of Saturday and Sunday at Fort Bragg touring around the HUGE post. My brother lives in a townhouse off base but he managed to smuggle us all in for a really cool tour. "There are no bombs in this handbag. This Volvo is not a secret missile."
We visited several memorials and museums and did a little sock shopping at the PX! It's incredible to think of the history behind my brother's group. Think Saving Private Ryan or Band of Brothers. I know there are many titles and divisions, etc. to describe what my brother is a part of, but basically he's an Army Ranger Paratrooper in the airborne division of the Infantry, Delta Company. The All-American unit dates back to WWI.
I hope that wasn't top secret information.
