Strawberry Picking at Gallmeyer Farms

So many of the farms in Virginia aren't offering pick your own strawberries this season so we had to look a bit deeper to find one.  It was such fun!  I really had no expectations for how it would go.  With a two year old and a three and half year old things can go from smooth to shaky in no time.  But Gallmeyer farms was so laid back and country and hospitable that we felt right at home from the start.  I swear kids can sense when someone wants them around.  We were greeted by a friendly farmer offering to take us on a hayride and then pass us some berry baskets.  Yes, please.  Both the kids were pretty into picking their own red berries.  One basket each, and one for us to share took about a half hour or so to fill.  I brought my good camera to capture the day so I'll just let the pictures do the talking from here.
