Wedding Season in the South
Wedding Season in the South.
We had the most incredible time in Charleston this past weekend celebrating Matthew's cousin and her British beau. The wedding was at Stella Maris on Sullivan's Island and the reception at the Daniel Island Club. Every detail was seriously so dreamy. I promise to share more photos from the wedding from the photographer. I can only imagine how gorgeous those will be to look at!
Wells and Tagg were in the wedding which was so adorable. Wells took her job very seriously. Tagg was pissed he didn't get to stay up front with the groomsmen. Hey, I don't blame him I'm a sucker for a British accent too. Yes, all those cutie-pie groomsmen are also British. I know.
We had the kids walk down the aisle for the ceremony and then immediately turn and go up the side to the back of the Church where we promptly took them outside. I know their limits and sitting inside quietly for an hour while on vacation is not one of them. The trolley driver offered to take us on a ride and they were so pumped to get a private tour! That was awesome. I don't think they'll ever forget about it.
I had my parents come down to Charleston on Saturday to keep the kids so Matthew and I could enjoy the reception. That was so awesome of them. Convincing them to spend a week in SC is never hard though :)
Also, many of you have asked about my dress and while it's no longer available I did find this one that is really similar and part of Shopbop's 40% off surprise sale.
We also had time for a little bit of Charleston eating but not nearly as much as I'd hoped. We went to the new Hometeam BBQ downtown friday night with all of Matthew's extended family. The service was really slow but we were seated on the porch adjacent to the lawn which was great for the kids to run around outside and play. And I can't not mention my old favorite, Poe's. Cheeseburger + fries + beer at the beach. Enough said.
Friday night was interesting trying to take them out to dinner after a long day of traveling and swimming in the pool. Poor babies were so tired. I wish we'd thought to have a sitter earlier. Note to self, don't wait until the day before to try to find a sitter in Charleston on a Friday night.
I'm exhausted and thankful to be back home, but, man was that a good time.
