Easter Weekend + The Deck Project

Happy Monday!  I hope everyone had a Happy Easter!  We had such an awesome weekend.  It's so much fun celebrating holidays with small children!  Man, did this morning creep up on me or what.  I'm going to have to keep it short this morning.  I've got a small update on our deck I've shared with you below.  I'll try to come back this afternoon and share more about that and my plans for the project.

We really did have an amazing Easter Weekend.  Of course that meant by yesterday afternoon Wells and Tagg had crashed.  Tagg fell asleep on the way home from my parents house and let me carry him inside to bed.  I started a breathing treatment and he passed out anyway.  That is unheard of for my little man who won't even take a quiet time.  Tagg's asthma is also flaring with all the pollen hitting the air.  We tried using his new inhaler yesterday and it didn't do anything.  Like, nothing.  An albuteral treatment through the nebulizer gives us such strong results and this was like he puffed air.  He has a spacer to trap the treatment in the inhaler so I know he's getting the drug.  Anyone else have this same result?  I guess we'll be back to lugging around his treatment bag everywhere we go again.

Also, I showed on instagram a few weeks ago where Matthew tore off over of half of our deck.  I'll get into all the details of why and the plans for our backyard in another post.  But I wanted to show how he and his Dad worked tirelessly all weekend to rebuild the top section for us.

I also feel like I should say how pissed I was that this whole project got started to begin with.  Matthew and I had agreed that our deck was old and in need of repair.  And when the time came, I was on board with changing up the size and creating a new hard scape altogether.  We just didn't agree on when that would take place.  I know it's going to be AMAZING when it's all finished.  But all I see right now is a big pile of dirt where my deck used to be.  I think that's one of the hard parts of home renovations that people don't really talk about.  You don't always agree on the priority of certain projects.  Of course now that this part has been fixed and the stairs rebuilt in the new area I love it.  And I love my husband for creating this safe space for us.

Now we need a new outdoor dining table and chairs so we can actually use it!  Where have you bought outdoor furniture from in the past?  We want something with good quality that will withstand the elements for years to come.

I'll be back soon with some inspiration for the space!
