Do you remember when you were in high school and started visiting colleges?

{No, not that kind of weekend}

The ones you went on with your parents on an actual official visit with guided tours

right

And do you remember seeing a few random deserted campuses and having your mom whisper something about a suitcase school?

Well mine did as she explained those were schools where there was shit to do on the weekends so everyone packed up their stuff and headed to the bigger and more fun schools to party.

But then happily returned on Sunday afternoons to enjoy the peaceful and scholastic atmosphere so they could get their shit done during the school week.

Well I'm starting to feel like I'm living in a suitcase town

We leave every weekend

and it's not just us

everyone does

except the boys who stick around to hunt and fish with their wives bitching

And it's not that we don't all love Pawleys

it just seems Charleston or Charlotte or where ever seems to call us and lure us in come Friday afternoon

Well this time it's Richmond

that's my where ever

And this time it's my mom's Birthday

and I'll happily endure six hours in the car with my husband, our 6-month old, and a high-maintenance Boykin

to get to spend this weekend with my parents

both my siblings

and my nephew

under one roof

Just to be clear, I LOVE South Carolina 

I take every chance to show my pride

and I don't want anyone to misinterpret this post
