Let's talk dirty

My house is dirty. I blame my vacuum. And my dog. Before you get all, " eww gross she's a hoarder with a nasty house-carried away, let me clarify. My house is actually not really that dirty. I straighten up. I dust. I clean the kitchen daily with Clorox spray. I sweep. I vacuum. Yet every day I find dog hairs and dust bunnies lurking all over my floors. We were fore-warned of this debacle when we selected the darker colored oak flooring. I choose it anyway. Design over practicality. I'm learning my lesson.

Since a cleaning lady of the hired sort is out of the question for now I need to enlist your help. What products do you swear by?

I'd really like a new vacuum. Mine is several years old, uses bags and was cheap. I'm getting what I paid for it. All of my friends have Dysons and swear they are better than chocolate. I know they are. My friend Amanda let me borrow hers. I wanted to take pictures of the amount of filth collecting in that clear bin. It was amazing. I had to empty it three times just to finish my whole house. Again, I blame my vacuum. I just know my house would be all sparkly and eat-off-the-floor clean if I had the Dyson DC25 Animal Ball-Technology Upright Vacuum Cleaner. But it's $549.00 on Amazon.com and even though it includes FREE 2-day SHIPPING it's still out of my budget. By a lot at this point. But, I know I can find something for much less that works just as well. Even almost as well.

I've been planning this post for a while now so imagine my delight when I went over to YHL the other day and saw that they'd already done some posting and homework for me here!

They have a whole long post about what they were looking for in a vacuum, how they came across and researched the perfect fit, how they made the right selection for them, etc. etc. etc.

Personally, I'm just too busy, or just bored with the idea of researching vacuums, to bother with all that. So I'll just take their word for it. They went with the Bissell 82H1 Cleanview Helix Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner and I'm happy to let their research and struggle be my guide. You can purchase it on Amazon for $79.99 with FREE 2-DAY SHIPPING.

I'm not rushing out until I hear their personal testimony on it's perfornance first. Lucky for us, I know they'll blog about it soon!
